 What an awesome family trip! Once in a lifetime really. We did two full days around the island. We filled up our 14 passenger van + two other 6 passenger vans with 4 generations of the C family.... including Elvis Presley himself! Thanks so much for the awesome review on TripAdvisor BTW! Aloha

Situated in the hills just visible from Waikiki sits a six mile long loop road which runs along an extinct cinder cone. Mount Tantalus, or Puu Ohia, offers incredible views of the entire South Shore of Oahu. Drive from sea level to an elevation of over 2,000 feet in just minutes while winding through a rain forest on your way to the top. Once at the top, take in the incredible views stretching from Diamond Head all the way to Pearl Harbor, and beyond. Tantalus is quick and easy to fit into your day while touring the island. And if you were thinking of hiking Diamond Head, but can’t find the time, Tantalus offers similar views of the South Shore, but from a higher elevation!
