Glad to know the medical team for the Kualoa Ranch Spartan Race 2017. We ended up doing three tours together. We covered so much of the island! Hope to see you back again next year!
Oahu has such a rich a diverse food scene. We have food from all over the world. Many items can only be found here in Hawaii. And desserts are taken very seriously! Chinese bakeries, Portuguese bakeries, coffee, pineapple, tropical fruits from Asia and South America, li hing mui, butter mochi, there are so many treats to try. Hey, you're on vacation!
https://foursquare.com/top-places/honolulu/best-places-desserts http://lilihabakeryhawaii.com/ What an awesome family trip! Once in a lifetime really. We did two full days around the island. We filled up our 14 passenger van + two other 6 passenger vans with 4 generations of the C family.... including Elvis Presley himself! Thanks so much for the awesome review on TripAdvisor BTW! Aloha Big Mahalo to T and the Gang! We packed in quite a bit! Early bird gets da worm. Snorkeling, small kine cliff jumping, classic Hawaiian Breakfust and Lunch, hidden beaches, tropical fruit, and even a little Hawaii 5-0 encounter! What a cool family! Thanks again! Aloha
Our suggested 6-8, as well as our 8-10 hour tours, include a trip to the North Shore... which means a potential stop at the world class surf spot, Banzai Pipeline. Known as the “Crown Jewel” of the North Shore, Pipeline is a natural arena showcasing waves in the 20-25 ft range during the winter months. Considered one of the most hollow waves in the world, it’s all about getting barrelled or tubed when surfing Pipeline. Riders will drop down the face of three story waves and then carefully position themselves for the upcoming tube. Surfers often disappear from sight completely before being “spit out” of massive, gaping barrells.
Haleiwa (pronounced: ha-lay-ee-vah) is the eclectic little village on the North Shore of Oahu. Rustic and indelibly charming, Haleiwa is home to a different way of life. It is the gateway to the stretch of coastline known as the “Seven Mile Miracle,” Surfing’s Mecca. A former pani’olo (Hawaiian Cowboy) area, these days Haleiwa is home to a community of surfers, artists, and do-it-yourselfers. Visit a variety of very quaint art galleries, coffee shops, boutiques, surf shops, and small restaurants. Grab some shave ice at Matsumoto’s. Want to hit the beach while you are in Haleiwa? Home to the first leg of the Triple Crown of Surfing, Ali’i Beach park is just on the edge of town. Baywatch Hawaii Fans? That’s right. This is the beach.
